Role Description
- This is a contract, hybrid Senior Instructional Designer role based in Gurugram, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Senior Instructional Designer will lead end-to-end learning solution design, from needs analysis and stakeholder consultation to curriculum design, storyboard creation, and development oversight. Day-to-day work includes conducting detailed training needs assessments, defining learning objectives, and designing engaging, interactive e-learning, blended, and virtual learning experiences.
The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, project managers, and developers to translate complex concepts into clear, learner-centered content. The Senior Instructional Designer will also review and iterate on courses based on feedback and learning analytics to ensure continuous improvement and measurable business impact.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Needs Analysis and Learning Management, including diagnosing performance gaps and aligning learning solutions with business goals.
Proven expertise in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development, with experience designing e-learning, blended, and instructor-led programs.
Background in Training & Development, including implementing learning programs and evaluating training effectiveness.
Experience applying adult learning principles, cognitive and constructivist learning theories, and learner-centered design practices.
Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Storyline, Rise, Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS).
Ability to create clear storyboards, scripts, and assessments that support measurable learning outcomes.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, including working with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience designing solutions for corporate or enterprise clients; exposure to technology or professional services environments is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Instructional Design & Learning Architecture
Design learner-centric digital learning solutions using ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Adult Learning Theory.
Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and translate business requirements into instructional strategies.
Develop High-Level Design (HLD), Detailed Design Documents (DDD), storyboards, and assessment blueprints.
Apply scenario-based learning, gamification, branching logic, and microlearning strategies.
2. Project & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with SMEs, business leaders, graphic designers, and developers.
Lead requirement gathering workshops and design reviews.
Manage timelines, scope, and quality assurance.
Provide effort estimation and support RFP solutioning (preferred).
3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure instructional and technical quality standards.
Conduct UAT and LMS testing.
Maintain documentation and version control.
Align deliverables with branding and organizational standards.
Required Experience
Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Instructional Design.
At least 5+ years hands-on experience with Articulate Storyline.
Experience in corporate L&D, consulting, or eLearning services environment.
Exposure to global clients and multi-domain content (preferred).
