Primary SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1 Support Local Primary Schools

Position:
Full Time, Long Term (Term Time Only)

Salary: GBP
88.92 - GBP
100 per day (Weekly Pay)

Key Responsibilities and Benefits
  • Offer 1:1 support to children with additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Speech and Language challenges.
  • Implement personalised activities to meet EHCP targets and make the curriculum accessible and enjoyable.
  • Use sensory tools such as PECS, Now and Next boards, and sensory breaks to reduce anxiety and promote engagement.
  • Support children with social skills, emotional regulation, and personal care needs (full training provided).
  • Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to create a safe, inclusive, and high-energy learning environment.
  • Enjoy regular school hours (approx. 8:30 am – 3:30 pm) with no take-home work or weekend commitments.
Essential Requirements
  • Patience and a positive attitude towards supporting a child's individual learning journey.
  • Relevant experience from a school, nursery, healthcare setting, or personal lived experience with SEND.
  • Strong communication skills to build trust with children, parents, and staff.
  • Completed enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
