Job Summary
The instructor will teach the Post‑Graduate Business Management program, a program registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The instructor will follow CIMT College’s policies and procedures and use the provided instructor manual, courseware, resources, evaluations, and daily lesson plans to train students with the knowledge and skills required for employment in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities- Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
- Instruct curriculum using only pre‑authorized and provided materials.
- Teach learners using a systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, and independent or group projects.
- Employ appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to diverse students.
- Administer and mark quizzes, assignments, exams and other assessments to monitor and evaluate student progress according to guidelines and procedures.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return marks promptly.
- Provide feedback on student performance.
- Arrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each course.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multicultural environment.
- Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude.
- Maintain attendance records accurately.
- Assure that classrooms are left clean and orderly at the end of class without loss or damage to equipment or other resources.
- Provide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future careers.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events such as graduation.
- Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information.
- Stay current in the subject matter through professional development.
- Display an attitude of teamwork and problem‑solving.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication ability to present information in a way that students understand and adapt to different learning styles.
- Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model.
- Computer proficiency and readiness for online teaching (training provided).
- 48 months of work experience in the vocation, OR
- 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation plus 24 months of work experience in the vocation, OR
- 24 months of work experience in the vocation AND a Bachelor degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree,
- or a graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent,
- or a graduate of a registered OCC or equivalent.
- Meet instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
- Must be available to teach online as per the accepted schedule.
Monday to Friday, 5pm to 10pm, up to 25hours per week.
Pay DetailsCAD $20 per hour – $22 per hour.
