• Have university qualifications and/or successful teaching experience in teaching the above listed subject areas
• Have demonstrated qualifications and/or successful experience in working in an alternate school setting with students of various educational needs
• Have demonstrated success with students with behavioral and motivational challenges
• Be trained in Level B assessment
• Proven and strong background in learner support and IEP Case Management
• Have demonstrated ability to provide support for and offer online courses
• Have demonstrated and proven ability to accurately report student progress and enrollment requirements to ministry standards and auditing requirements
• Have demonstrated ability to coordinate with outside agencies and school administration
• Have strong problem-solving skills and show strong initiative to provide programing to all students
• Be committed to and practice the philosophy of inclusion
• Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas
• Be able to work independently
• Have good interpersonal skills and a history of successful classroom management
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and ability to work as a team member
• Have a strong working knowledge of the graduation program.
• Be committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wide instructional team attend meetings as required
• Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison
• Have knowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formative assessment
• Have a commitment to the directions of the school as outlined in the School Improvement Plan
• Have experience in the use of technology in the classroom

The starting annual salary for full-time teaching position ranges from $66,538 to $116,870, with placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the collective agreement. Additionally, $3,500 annually as a Remote & Rural Allowance (Effective July 1, 2026).
