Full-Time Certified Education Assistant (CEA)

ASCEND Online is an online learning school operated by the Catholic Independent Schools of the Kamloops Diocese. The school enrolls approximately 700 students from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve supported by teachers and support staff from across the province of British Columbia.

ASCEND Online is seeking applications for a full-time CEA (30 hours per week) for the  school year for their blended learning classroom located in Prince George (within Sacred Heart School), commencing September 1, 2026.

The CEA is a member of the school educational support team. The CEA is responsible for individual student support and program assistance under the direction of the classroom teacher. As a Catholic Independent School, the teachings of the Catholic faith are integrated into every aspect of the school, and therefore, candidates who actively practice their faith are highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • 5 days per week, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays – support high school students (with the on‑site teacher), helping with academics, inclusive education support as directed by the teacher.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays – support elementary students K‑8 in a classroom setting; provide one‑on‑one support and classroom support as needed/directed by the teacher.
  • Fridays – support students (K‑8, 8‑12, or K‑12 depending on the week) with retreats, field trips, and workshops.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting students (high school and elementary).
  • Commitment to and active practice of the Catholic faith.
