Home-Based Education Assistant

Position: Home-Based Education Assistant Role
Transform the educational experience for a Grade 2 student at Heritage Christian Online School as a Home-Based Education Assistant. This 30-hour a week position allows for personalized support and engagement in Chilliwack, BC.

As an independent contractor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a collaborative learning environment within the student’s home. Partnering with families and educational teams, you will address academic, behavioral, and health-related needs while participating in therapeutic activities. Your creativity and dedication will aid in achieving the student's individual learning goals through consistent and patient support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address social, emotional, and learning needs during schooling

• Participate in therapy sessions and support exercises

• Manage mobility equipment and assist with positioning

• Engage in community outings for practical learning

• Support IEP goals in collaboration with the education team

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in Education, EA support, or child/youth services

• Certification as an Educational Assistant is an asset

• Competent with digital tools for remote engagement

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license for activities

• Commitment to ongoing learning and development
