The Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL), part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is home to the Strathclyde Institute for Genealogical Studies (SIGS), a globally recognised team of professional genealogists who were the first to offer a Masters qualification in this field and who continue to build Strathclyde’s reputation as the leader in genealogical study. The Masters programme remains the largest of its type worldwide with over 220 students across various study routes.

The team is also involved with joint supervision of students on the PhD in History with Genealogical Studies and hold expertise in the use of DNA in family history research and genealogical aspects of historical events and have a busy schedule of speaking at conferences and expos.

As a result of a retirement, SIGS is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to add to its existing team of staff supervising students on the Masters pathways (available full-time, part-time and modular) and to provide PhD supervision.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a successful and innovative programme and be part of a Centre which prides itself on its people-oriented approach, proactive and commercial track record. The post would suit someone with genealogical experience, an understanding of online learning and who has knowledge of the HE sector. Ideally, it will be based within CLL but remote working arrangements can be discussed.
