If so, we want to draw your attention to a vacant position for an Assistant Professor in the department of Human Resource Studies. We are particularly keen to recruit an Assistant Professor with expertise in strategic/ macro-level HRM and advanced (quantitative) research techniques.
Your position
Working as an Assistant Professor in the department will involve further developing your own research activities in line with the department’s research programs and in collaboration with members of our department and other TSB departments. More particularly, Assistant Professors are part of one or two research labs and conduct research related to the themes of these lab(s). It also involves coordinating at least one course (financial and economic HRM), teaching in about two additional courses of 6 ECTS in our Bachelor or Master program, mentoring one Bachelor group, and supervising about 10 Bachelor and/or Master theses.
The HR Studies department is looking for an Assistant Professor who is excellent in both research and teaching. As mentioned, we are particularly keen to recruit an Assistant Professor with expertise in strategic/ l macro-level HRM and advanced (quantitative, economic) research techniques. Applicants have experience in conducting high - quality research as proven by published articles or a good pipeline of studies , and are willing to write grant proposals.
Experience with (co-)applying for large collaborative (EU) grants and creating societal impact is appreciated.
As a member of our academic community, you also contribute to the team by collaborating with others, sharing your knowledge and experiences, taking on certain administrative responsibilities, such as serving on faculty or university committees and helping to foster an open and inclusive work environment.
Your profile
- Candidates have a (nearly) completed PhD in HRM, business, management, or social sciences.
- Candidates have an excellent (early career) track record in publishing research findings in recognized international scientific journals in the field of HRM and Management.
- We particularly welcome applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in (co-)teaching a large-scale course and supervising students.
- We expect the candidate to hold or acquire the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ; in Dutch: BKO)
- You are prepared to teach at the academic level in both Dutch and English, demonstrated by CEFR level C2 English and B2/C1 level Dutch.
- You show personal leadership: you take responsibility for your work and career and possess a good level of self-knowledge.
- You have team spirit: you feel part of a team and express this through collaboration, sharing knowledge and experiences, and contributing to an open and inclusive work environment.
Our offer

- A position based on (0.8-) 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week).
- A salary of minimum € 4.728,-- and maximum € 6.433,-- gross per month for full-time employment, based on UFO profile Assistant Professor and salary scale 11. Tilburg University uses a neutral remuneration system based on relevant work experience.
- This is a vacancy for an Assistant Professor in accordance with Article 2.3 paragraph 8 sub b CLA DU. You will initially be given a temporary contract for the duration of 18 months.
- Vacation pay of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
- Over 8 weeks of vacation leave.
