Role Overview

London Borough of Bexley's Library Service is seeking an experienced library professional to fill the senior role of Stock, Reader Development and Activities Manager. The successful candidate will be based at Central Library, Bexleyheath and will work across the borough, with flexibility to work from home some of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Librarians to maintain excellent stock for Bexley's libraries.
  • Develop engaging programmes and activities that encourage residents to visit and use libraries.
  • Support the growth of library usage and visits, contributing to the success of new and existing libraries.
  • Coordinate and oversee library services across the borough, including occasional evenings and weekends as required.
  • Act as a strategic partner with library staff to plan resources and programming.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive experience as a qualified library professional.
  • Strong staff management experience.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding public library services.
  • Experience in staff development, reader development and activities.
