About the DepartmentThe FE Animal Management department is a collaborative and supportive team of lecturers and tutors working alongside Animal Instructors to provide Further Education students with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to equip them in moving into the Animal Industry. The animal collection houses over 70 species, all of which students can engage with as they prepare for life beyond their programme.
Responsibilities- You will inspire students to appreciate and enjoy Animal Management, instilling in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding. You will be required to have experience in delivering a range of units predominantly Animal Biology, Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Training and Animal Practical.
- You will be a personal tutor, advising and guiding individuals in their progress, success and career aspirations during group and 1:1 tutorials.
- You will be responsible for the undertaking of assessments, marking and monitoring learner progress.
- Hold a teaching qualification or have a willingness to complete one.
- Possess a degree qualification in Animal Science/Management, Biological Sciences or similar.
- You will have a thorough knowledge of a wide range of animals and have good links with industry.
- Be a highly motivated lecturer with experience of providing tutorial support to students being advantageous.
- A holder of the A1 Assessors Award (or equivalent) and V1 Internal Verifiers Award (or equivalent) would be desirable.
