The Academic Manager of the online division is responsible for providing and driving innovative and transformative teaching and learning for an online mode of delivery; and academic operations that support an exceptional student learning experience and success. The Academic Manager inspires and assures the academic development of online tutors and facilitators, the achievement of high levels of student engagement and support, and a culture and service devoted to student learning experience, success, and employability.

The main purposes include online course lecturer and academic tutor management, quality assurance, certification, and general academic functions.

• Academic operations management
• Academic support
• Assist with accreditation
• Quality assurance
• Managing the delivery of programmes
• Plan and implement all online programmes
• Management of academic staff

• Minimum of a degree
• Postgraduate qualification in education an advantage
• Master of Education preferred but not essential
• Proven work experience in higher education teaching and learning
• Passion for developing mediation and facilitation of learning online
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional and learning design models
• Knowledge of course development and NQF alignment
