Pay Grade:
Faculty Sessional – Salary Range as per URFA Collective Agreement.

Work Hours:

Monday 13:00–15:45 (Face‑to‑Face at Great Plains College, Swift Current with remote sections).
Course Dates: 1 September – 7 December 2026, with term extension to 31 December 2026 for temporary duties.
Job Open Date: 22 June 2026. Job Close Date: 6 July 2026. Open Until Filled.

Position Summary
The course introduces students to basic sociological concepts, debates, and modes of analysis. Through discussion of issues such as the cultural development of humans, the socialization process, and the structures of global society, students will be introduced to the distinctive approach of sociology.

Requirements

M.A. in Sociology or a related social science field required;
Ph.D. preferred.

Demonstrated competence to teach the course subject matter.

Demonstrated successful experience in university‑level teaching.
