Farriery Apprenticeships Training Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the farriery team at Holme Lacy College as a Farriery Apprenticeships Training Officer. The role is to provide ongoing support and carry out Progress Reviews for an agreed caseload of trainees based in the south-west region of England, and to engage with Approved Training Farriers (ATFs) in the region to maintain and grow the college’s Farriery Apprenticeship provision.
You will have a background in farriery, a clear understanding of the commitments of an Approved Training Farrier (ATF) and have a passion for working with apprentices within the farriery industry.
The apprenticeship is delivered in block week attendance at college over four academic years, with the apprentices spending the rest of their time with their ATF. Your role will be to monitor and support over the duration of the apprenticeship, conduct regular reviews in the workplace, record off-the-job training activities and play a vital role in communication between the apprentice, the ATF and the college.
You will be home based and expected to arrange your visits to work placements to ensure reviews are completed at least every three months for each apprentice.
Your salary will be commensurate with the agreed workload.
HLNSC is committed to equality of opportunity, safeguarding including the Prevent Duty and promoting the welfare of all learners and expects all members of staff to share this commitment.
Contact our HR Department on or telephone (01432) 365373 for any further information.
Salary: £514.20 per apprentice per year (salary dependent on caseload of apprentices)
