Position Title

ENGL 100-013 - Critical Reading and Writing I — Remote (Synchronous) — Fall 2026

Position Summary

This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts and composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver synchronous online instruction for the course.
  • Prepare lecture materials, assignments, and assessment rubrics.
  • Conduct virtual office hours and provide timely assessment of student work.
  • Maintain compliance with Faculty of Arts teaching regulations.
Qualifications
  • M.A. or higher in English, or M.F.A. or higher in Creative Writing (for Literature Stream).
  • Sessional Lecturer II:
    Master’s degree or equivalent four‑year Bachelor’s degree and at least twelve 3‑credit courses taught.
  • Sessional Lecturer III:
    Ph.D. or equivalent, or Master’s degree and at least fifteen 3‑credit courses taught.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness: student evaluations, syllabi examples, or letters of evaluation.
Additional Requirements
  • Use University of Regina’s Learning Management System and web conferencing applications.
  • Adhere to Faculty Policy Handbook regulations on class cancellation, office hours, and assessment deadlines.

Salary
