Lecturer – Higher Education Academy
The Lecturer role is focused on delivering high‑quality teaching, fostering student development, and advancing academic excellence within the institution. The position involves designing and delivering innovative programmes, contributing to research and knowledge exchange, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to enhance learning outcomes and institutional reputation. The role includes leadership in module and discipline coordination and active participation in academic planning and development initiatives.

Primary Teaching Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality lectures, tutorials, and workshops across a range of programmes, including certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
- Design, develop and update curriculum and course materials in alignment with academic frameworks and quality standards.
- Assess and provide timely feedback on coursework, examinations and other student deliverables.
- Support student learning and development by offering academic advice and guidance on career and further study opportunities.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
- Engage in scholarly activities, including knowledge exchange and development of new subject areas.
- Lead the adoption and integration of e‑learning tools and AI platforms to enhance teaching delivery.
- Assist the Head of School in building partnerships with external stakeholders to secure funding and undertake collaborative projects as directed.
- Contribute to the institution's reputation by delivering commercial enterprise activities where appropriate.
Programme Leadership and Coordination
- Act as a module leader / discipline coordinator, coordinating teaching and assessment activities to ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and refine programme content, delivery methods and assessment standards.
- Lead or participate in cross‑departmental initiatives to enhance academic practices and policies.
- Assist the Head of School in strategic decision‑making and planning for module and programme development.
Team and Stakeholder Engagement
- Mentor and support academic staff by conducting staff development seminars and training and sharing best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure programme relevance and student satisfaction.
- Promote student recruitment and retention through innovative approaches and effective teamwork.
- Contribute to departmental committees, working groups and institution‑wide initiatives as required.
Education
- Master's Degree in a related discipline. PhD candidates will be given priority consideration.
Minimum Years of Experience
- 5 years of relevant working experience at a tertiary level.
- Teaching / academic instructional experience.
- Course development / design experience would be advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain tight schedules and meet set goals.
- Ability to work well in a team, adapt to stressful conditions and new technologies.
- Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. - Work Arrangements:
