The NPORS and Construction NVQ Trainer will deliver high-quality, accredited training and assessments to construction and plant operatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering NPORS courses, guiding learners through Construction NVQ pathways, carrying out workplace assessments, and maintaining accurate training records and documentation. The trainer will tailor learning to varied experience levels, provide constructive feedback, ensure compliance with awarding body and health and safety standards, and support learners in achieving their qualifications on time.
This is a full-time role based in Bury St Edmunds, with a hybrid working pattern that allows some work from home for planning, administration, and remote learner support. The trainer will collaborate with colleagues across C&C Training centres and contribute to continuous improvement of training materials and delivery.
- Strong instructional and assessment skills, including experience delivering NPORS courses and assessing Construction NVQs.
- Solid understanding of health and safety legislation, construction site practices, and plant operations.
- Effective communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse learner groups.
- Good organizational and administrative abilities, including record keeping, report writing, and use of digital training systems.
- Recognized teaching or training qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) and relevant assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA or A1) preferred.
- Current or recent experience working within construction or plant operations; NPORS instructor registration and NVQ assessing experience are highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, manage a full-time workload, and travel to client sites and other C&C Training centres as required.
