Overview

The Centre for Learning@Home is an alternative education school based in Okotoks offering families home based education, online education, and distance education across Alberta.

We are seeking applications for a part-time position in Medicine Hat and Area
. This position provides support to home schooling families. The teaching time is expected to be approximately 40% of a full-time equivalent and will be determined based on student enrollment. The successful candidate will be interested in serving home-school families in his or her community, open to working flexible hours from the comfort of his or her home, enjoy traveling and meeting new people and be committed to working with an organization committed to homeschooling.

We actively seek Catholic candidates and encourage anyone desiring to work in a Christian faith based environment to apply. Experience working with home-schooled children and their families would be considered an asset, as would comfort and desire to work in a Christ-centered environment. Education steps to apply.

• Provide support to home schooling families in Medicine Hat and surrounding area.
• Deliver instructional activities with an estimated teaching time of ~40% of a full-time equivalent, adjusted based on student enrollment.
• Possibly travel within the community to engage with families and students.
• Work flexible hours, with the option to perform duties from home.
• Collaborate with the Centre for Learning@Home team to support homeschooling efforts.

• Experience working with home-schooled children and their families is an asset.
• Interest in serving home-schooling communities and ability to work from home with flexibility.
• Comfort and desire to work in a Christian faith-based environment; openness to a Christ-centered setting.
• Additional certification in Catholic Education from institutions such as St. Joseph’s College or St. Mary’s University is an asset (not required).
