Course Overview

This course introduces students to sociological perspectives on issues of inequality and social justice. It analyzes the origins and consequences of social inequalities and the mechanisms by which they are perpetuated and challenged.

Responsibilities
  • Teach the course face‑to‑face in Swift Current (Great Plains) with remote sections.
  • Conduct classes on Mondays from 1300‑1545 (January 6 2027 – April 12 2027) and prepare instructional materials.
  • Hold at least one office hour per week to provide student assistance.
  • Complete grading and administrative tasks associated with the course.
Qualifications
  • M.A. in Sociology or a related field required;
    Ph.D. preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence to teach the course subject matter.
  • Successful experience in university‑level teaching.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada; work must be performed within Canada.
Compensation

Faculty/Sessional salary range and pay grade as per URFA Collective Agreement.

Work Hours and Timing

Face‑to‑face with remote sections. Monday 1300‑1545, January 6 – April 12, 2027. Course duration:
January 6 – April 30, 2027 (Seasonal).
