The combined staff in UCL LCCOS totals around 450.

The UCL Bartlett Library holds specialist collections of materials spanning the fields of Architecture and Planning to Energy and Environmental Design. As well as a variety of modern study spaces, the library’s facilities include self-service book and laptop loans. The library primarily supports staff, students and researchers in the Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment. It also serves the wider academic community, both within the UK and internationally, as well as practising professional architects.

A new part‑time opportunity is now available within the UCL Bartlett Library team as a 0.6 Part Time Subject Liaison Librarian. The Bartlett Subject Liaison Librarians work proactively to build relationships with students and staff to ensure that services and resources required to support learning, teaching and research are available. On a day-to-day basis, the Bartlett Subject Liaison Librarians are responsible for providing training and support, managing collections relevant to the Bartlett Faculty, and promoting and raising awareness of library developments and initiatives.

As a key member of the Bartlett Library team, this role provides excellent customer service and site supervision as required. This role works closely with colleagues across LCCOS taking a collaborative approach to the development of services and resources to support students, academics and researchers in line with LCCOS Departmental Strategy.

This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

The role is 0.6 FTE part time, working 3 days per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8:45-17:03. Salary for this role is 26,388.60per annum pro-rated amount for part-time hours.

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:

• Accredited undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Studies, and significant experience of working in an academic library, preferably in a liaison or user support role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver user training that conveys information clearly and accurately.
• Experience of using specialist indexing and abstracting services to carry our literature searches.

Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating training and related materials in both a face-to-face environment, and online.
