Here in Milton Keynes Educational Psychology Service, we are looking for creative and motivated educational psychologists to join our friendly team, where diverse psychological approaches and professional interests are valued.
We have vacancies for 4 Maingrade Educational Psychologists and 1 Senior Leadership Educational Psychologist.
In MK EPS, we are committed to early intervention and preventative working, including a focus on training, capacity building, and systemic projects. Our shared passion is the application of psychology to promote positive outcomes for children and young people at all levels (individual, group and environmental). We are a team of community-minded psychologists, meaning that we are continually striving to understand and meet the needs of our local children and communities.
We pride ourselves on offering a rich range and breadth of psychologically informed work. We ensure that workloads are manageable and varied, through a clear time allocation system. Examples of our work include:
- Providing a hugely successful psychological consultation service; free at the point of access for schools and settings.
- Developing and delivering of a range of high-quality and evidence informed CPD sessions as part of the local authority centralised training offer to schools.
- Collaborating with The Virtual School as part of the 'Making Connections' project; providing support and training to schools to promote attachment awareness and trauma informed practice.
- Contributing to an innovative multiagency forum responsible for coordinating and collaborating on timely assessment and intervention approaches to support early years children with the most complex needs.
- Providing a psychological contribution to local area SEND strategic groups, forums and panels.
- Developing psychologically informed and evidence-based guidance materials for schools and parents.
- Providing critical incident support to schools, families, and children; including the ongoing development of evidence-based support materials and guidance documents.
As a Maingrade Educational Psychologist with MK EPS, you will use psychology creatively to help improve outcomes for children and young people across Milton Keynes. A key part of the role is supporting the Educational, Health and Care needs assessment process and helping ensure children, young people and families receive informed, child-centred support. You'll deliver consultation, assessment and intervention work in line with recognised good practice and the evidence base in educational psychology, as well as planning and delivering high-quality training to a range of audiences.
Additionally, you'll contribute actively to project work and wider service initiatives and be skilled in working collaboratively with a range of partners to promote early intervention, integrated local solutions and family-centred practice.
As a Senior Leadership Educational Psychologist, you will provide strategic and operational leadership within the Educational Psychology Service, including line management, professional supervision, service development and quality assurance. You'll lead the Service's contribution to Milton Keynes Virtual School, Social Care and Fostering Services, developing evidence-informed approaches that improve outcomes for children and young people known to social care, including those in care, on the edge of care, previously looked after and returning to birth families.
Through consultation, supervision, training, therapeutic pathways and multi-agency collaboration, you'll build the capacity of professionals and carers, promote inclusion, resilience and educational achievement, and ensure high-quality psychological support for some of Milton Keynes' most vulnerable children and young people.
