The combined staff in UCL LCCOS totals around 450.

The UCL School of Pharmacy is the oldest Pharmacy School in the UK. The Library at the UCL School of Pharmacy specialises in the core pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacognosy and pharmacology, but also covers the wider biomedical spectrum.

The library print collection contains both teaching and research collections and one of UCL’s flagship collections, representing holdings of international and national significance. The Library also has oversight of the School of Pharmacy archive and museum collection which are used for exhibitions and outreach. The School of Pharmacy Library team comprises 5.6 FTE staff and a team of part time, term time only staff.

About

the role

The post holder will be part of a customer-facing team working at the UCL School of Pharmacy (SoP) Library. Our team takes pride in providing the best possible user experience throughout our library and study spaces.

The main purpose of this job is to provide excellent customer service and clerical support for library resources and facilities. The post holder will also support a wide range of activities including the use of technology, social media, maintenance of the estate, and the health & safety.

Salary for this role is £21,489.20 per annum (
the salary for this post pro-rated is £5,802
)

Manual handling is required to carry out this role. Training will be provided.

This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:

  • Experience of interacting with customers in a frontline service environment
  • Able to relate to a diverse range of colleagues and customers, understand their needs and provide an inclusive and supportive service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing common goals and taking responsibility for tasks when appropriate.

This role is Thursday and Friday 17:00 to 22:00 term time only
