POSITION:
TEMP STUDENT MONITOR FOR REMOTE CLASSROOM
LOCATION:
(Princeton Secondary School)
SHIFT:
4.5 hours per day / 5 days per week on school days only
EFFECTIVE:
September 8, 2026 - January 29, 2027. Pending extension based on second semester enrolment.
SALARY:
$31.15/hr
JOB DESCRIPTON:
Provides on-site supervision of students during assigned remote instructional classes.
Maintains a visible presence in the classroom and supports an environment conducive to student learning and participation.
Monitors student conduct and reminds students, as required, of established standards of acceptable behaviour and classroom expectations.
Requests appropriate assistance from an Administrator or other designated personnel in response to escalated student behaviour, injuries, emergencies, or other situations requiring additional support.
Prepares and distributes classroom materials as directed by the Teacher and collaborates to set up the classroom with required materials.
Provides students with non-instructional assistance related to their participation in the remote class, as directed by the Teacher.
Collects assignments and other classroom materials and forwards them to the Teacher through inter-school mail or other established District processes, as required.
Invigilates examinations and assessments in accordance with instructions provided by the Teacher and forwards completed materials to the Teacher, as required.
Monitors the operation of technology required for students to participate in remote instruction, reports connectivity or equipment issues to the Administrator, and contacts District IT/Technology Support for assistance, as required.
Completes incident reports and other documentation related to assigned supervisory responsibilities, as required.
Performs other related duties consistent with the nature and scope of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
6 months experience working with adolescents
Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office
