Role Description
The IB / Cambridge / ICSE Student or Career Counsellor role is a remote position focused on guiding school students and early-career individuals through key academic and career decisions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting online counseling sessions, interpreting psychometric assessments, and helping students understand academic pathways within IB, Cambridge, and ICSE boards. The counsellor will design individualized education and career roadmaps, provide college and course selection support, and recommend relevant skill-building and internship opportunities.
The role involves collaborating with the Future Captains team to refine counseling frameworks, maintaining accurate records of sessions, and following up with students and families to track progress. The counsellor is expected to use digital tools for communication, documentation, and scheduling, and to uphold a supportive, non-judgmental, and inclusive approach in all interactions.
Qualifications
Counseling expertise in Career Counseling, Student Counseling, and Career Development.
Knowledge of Career Management principles and frameworks for academic and professional growth.
Strong Communication skills, including active listening, clear writing, and engaging virtual interaction.
Familiarity with IB, Cambridge, and ICSE curricula, assessment patterns, and typical student pathways.
Experience working with school students, young adults, or early-career professionals in guidance or mentoring roles.
Ability to interpret psychometric assessments and translate insights into practical action plans.
Comfort with remote work, digital collaboration tools, and maintaining confidential records.
Relevant degree or certification in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Career Guidance, or a related field is preferred.
Demonstrated empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory advising.
