We are seeking a part-time (0.8 FTE) Research Assistant to join our vibrant research group. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of an exciting research programme to evaluate a walking exercise behaviour change intervention for people with peripheral arterial disease (MOSAIC2). The Research Assistant will complete a PhD (home fees funded), embedded in the MOSAIC2 research programme, that will explore the delivery of home-based exercise interventions by non-traditional healthcare professionals (e.g., healthcare assistants).

We particularly welcome applications from registered nurses or allied health professionals who are committed to completing a PhD. This post represents an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to maintain a part time (0.2 FTE) clinical role whilst also developing their research skills.

The Research Assistant will work closely with, and their PhD will be supervised by Professor Lindsay Bearne (NIHR Research Professor in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation).

You will support the planning and delivery of quantitative and qualitative research evaluating the MOSAIC2 intervention, forming the foundation of a PhD programme. You will collaborate with public advisory groups, clinical and research teams to promote inclusive research practices, manage research data in line with ethical and governance requirements, conduct research in accordance with university policies, and disseminate findings through publications, presentations and service innovation activities.

We're seeking a motivated candidate with a first degree and Master's qualification in a health or behavioural science discipline, eligible to register as a home PhD student. You will have experience in planning and/or delivering clinical research, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. You will be able to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and an understanding of the University's Equality Act and public sector equality responsibilities.
