Position Summary:

The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following remote course during the Winter 2027 semester:
SW 350 – Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practice This course unravels the underlying threads of multiple oppress ions and the intersection of various sources and forms of oppression. The course will focus on anti-oppressive theoretical perspectives, laws, actions, advocacy, social work ethics and their application to social work practice and policy. The semester is from January 6, 2027 to April 28, 2027 with the final exam period running from April 15, 2027 to April 28, 2027.

Sessional Lecturers that are teaching remote delivery classes are expected to teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester.

Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

• Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline.
• Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines.
• Delivering 13 lectures throughout the semester.
• Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment.
• Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students.
• Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

· Master of Social Work (MSW)
· Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content description as listed above;
· Superior communications skills (both written and verbal);
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
