Do you thrive on helping students put their learning into practice?
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Placements, Internships & Volunteering team, to support our students to secure work-based learning experiences.
Working with students across the university, this role will focus on providing expert advice and guidance to students to enable them to secure high-quality, relevant placements, which will enhance their employability and graduate prospects.
The duties of this role are varied: supporting students on a 1-1 basis; delivering skills workshops; engaging and working with local, national, and international employers and organisations; attending Careers Fairs and other employability events; and administration to ensure student placement activity is monitored.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- An understanding of student placements in the Higher Education sector
- Experience working with students in an education environment
- Experience delivering workshops
- Excellent organisation, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Good administration skills, with ability to use MS Office and databases to a high standard
This is a fixed term (secondment), full-time post (37 hours per week) until end of August 2027 (with the possibility of becoming permanent after that date) and will primarily be based at our Moulsecoomb and City campuses. The role is suitable for hybrid working, however during term times staff will be required to work on-campus as much as needed to support student-facing activities.
The University is committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive environment for all staff regardless of age, disability, family or caring responsibilities, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief (including non-belief), sex and sexual orientation. We embrace equality and diversity in our working, learning, research and teaching environment and are committed to maintaining a supportive and inclusive community.
We particularly encourage applicants from Minority Ethnic backgrounds because the University is under-represented by Minority Ethnic staff.
For the vast majority of our roles we operate an agile working system, with time split between working on campus and at the employee's home. It is the University's expectation that home working will take place within the UK.
