As a Plumbing Training Officer, you will support apprentices undertaking the Level 2 Plumbing Operative apprenticeship and Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician apprenticeship to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve, build occupational competence and progress into successful careers.

Managing a caseload of apprentices across your region, you will work closely with apprentices and employers to monitor progress, provide assessment and feedback, and ensure apprentices remain on track to successfully complete their programme. Through regular workplace visits, progress reviews, coaching and mentoring, you will help apprentices overcome barriers, build confidence and fulfil their potential.

• Manage a caseload of apprentices undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 plumbing apprenticeship programmes, supporting their progress, achievement and successful completion.
• Build effective relationships with apprentices and employers, acting as a key point of contact throughout the apprenticeship journey.
• Conduct regular workplace visits and progress reviews, working with apprentices and employers to review progress, recognise achievements and agree actions.
• Assess apprentices’ knowledge, skills and behaviours and provide constructive and developmental feedback to support improvement and occupational competence.
• Support apprentices and employers to understand gateway and end-point assessment requirements, ensuring apprentices are appropriately prepared and ready to progress.
• Work with employers to ensure apprentices have suitable workplace opportunities to develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the apprenticeship standard.
• Monitor attendance, engagement, off-the-job training and Functional Skills progress, ensuring apprentices are making at least expected progress.
• Identify apprentices at risk of falling behind and implement timely interventions to support successful outcomes.
• Promote personal development, employability skills, professional behaviours and industry awareness through progress reviews and JTL’s Steps to Success curriculum.
• Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion, British Values and health and safety throughout apprenticeship delivery.
• Maintain a good working knowledge of apprenticeship regulations and funding policy, providing advice and guidance to employers as required.
