About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Education Facilitator to support learners with diverse educational needs in Port Elizabeth. This role focuses on providing individualized assistance and implementing tailored educational strategies to help students achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to make a significant impact from the comfort of your home office.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one or small group academic and behavioral support to students with special educational needs.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) developed by specialists.
- Assist students in developing essential life skills, academic competencies, and social-emotional regulation.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external therapists to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, observations, and interventions.
- Diploma or Degree in Special Needs Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
- Understanding of special education principles, methodologies, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and patience.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting and collaborate with a virtual team.
- Proficiency in relevant assistive technologies and educational software.
