OCAD University seeks a creative Children’s Book Illustration instructor for an online non-credit course in Spring 2027. Engage students in visual narrative techniques and illustration skills for effective picture books.
This sessional teaching role at OCAD U focuses on developing and delivering a studio course that encourages students to express their creativity through illustrations. Candidates should have a Master’s degree or equivalent experience, along with a strong background in children’s book illustration and visual storytelling.
Experience with online teaching is an asset, and a commitment to inclusive learning practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver online course in Children’s Book Illustration
• Participate in program meetings with Continuing Studies staff
• Support students with technical demonstrations and critiques
• Foster a student-centered learning environment
• Encourage creativity and originality in student work
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary degree or professional experience
• Teaching experience with adult learners preferred
• Industry experience in children’s book publishing
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices
