Job Description:
The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a Workforce Enrollment Specialist to join a team providing proactive support to prospective learners, working adults, and regional employer partners.
Serving as the primary point of contact for non-degree, certificate, and degree pathways, the Specialist guides students seamlessly through the admissions and enrollment process. This role collaborates closely with UMPI Admissions, Professional Academic Advisors, Your Pace Student Success Coaches, Student Records, Student Financial Services, and Student Support Services to ensure a supported, high-quality learner transition.
This position requires a student-focused, tech-literate professional with outstanding communication skills, high attention to detail, and an engaging demeanor. The successful candidate leverages strong organizational skills, diplomacy, and initiative to anticipate applicant needs and support prospective learners throughout their application journey.
The work schedule and location for this position is fully remote with standard working hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST (schedule flexibility may occur during peak admissions cycles). Training and institutional events may require occasional travel to the UMPI campus.

The salary for this full-time position is $45,300.32
. The University will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion, depending on skills and experience. - Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates with an associate''s degree combined with related experience in admissions, tutoring, counseling, customer service, or sales will be considered.

Skills: - Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate to a diverse pool of prospective students with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Outgoing, positive manner with the ability to connect with, motivate, and inspire people.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Gmail. Proven experience working in multiple platforms simultaneously and utilizing communication technology (e.g., Zoom).
- Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail to ensure accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Aptitude for anticipating applicant needs. Perseverance and ability to look at all details and resources available in order to support students through the application process.
- Flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to advocate for your own training needs in order to meet all requirements of the position within the timeline outlined during onboarding.
- Related sales or marketing experience preferred.
- Related admissions and recruitment experience preferred.
- Proof of a stable, reliable internet connection of not less than 25 Mbps is required. Hotspots are not acceptable for this position.
- A dedicated workspace that is free from distractions, allows for private phone and Zoom conversations with students, and maintains respect for confidentiality according to policy and FERPA regulations. This space must accommodate a full workstation that includes 2 monitors, docking stations, and other necessary equipment.
- Annual completion of a Remote Work Agreement Form.
