- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- At least one year of professional experience working as an academic advisor in higher education
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience cultivating and supporting a welcoming community and a workplace culture of collaboration and respect through education and inclusive practices
- Excellent written communication skills
- Demonstrated success taking initiative and working independently
- Strong organizational ability with attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of proficiency using Google G-Suite and ability to quickly learn technical advising tools

Preferred Qualifications- Master’s degree earned in student development, counseling, higher education, or a related field
- Experience advising online students
- Experience advising transfer students
- Experience advising adult learners
- Assisting undergraduate students in developing appropriate and realistic academic plans via individualized graduation plans, as well as proactively monitoring academic progress.
- Assisting students with course selection and obtaining or granting special permissions for course enrollment when needed.
- Assisting students who are having academic difficulty by providing resources and strategies for achieving academic success.
- Disseminating information about academic programs and policies to new and continuing students.
- Serving as a liaison with the assigned academic program(s).
- Providing guidance to faculty and staff on student issues and academic policies.
- Attending special events and meetings as needed.

- Position Staff/Non-Faculty Staff/Non-Faculty Appointment Type 1.0
- Work Schedule/Hours Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, some weekend and evening work as needed; after initial training is complete, this position may be eligible for up to 2 remote work days per week
- Number of Hours Per Week: 40
- Number of Months Per Year: 12

- Suggested Salary Range: $48,000 - $55,000
