Academic Advisor - Online Programs

Our client is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor to support students enrolled in their online programs in Kimberley . In this role, you will provide guidance and support to students navigating their academic journey, helping them with course selection, academic planning, and connecting them with relevant resources. Your primary focus will be on fostering student success and retention in a remote learning environment.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of academic structures and a passion for helping students achieve their educational goals through personalized advising.

• Provide individualized academic advising to online students regarding course selection, program requirements, and academic progress.
• Assist students in developing personalized academic plans to meet their educational and career goals.
• Monitor student academic performance and proactively intervene when students are at risk.
• Connect students with appropriate campus resources, such as tutoring services, career services, and mental health support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records in the student information system.
• Stay informed about university policies, procedures, and program updates relevant to online students.

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in academic advising , counseling, or student support, preferably in higher education.
• Experience working with online students and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS).
• Strong understanding of academic curricula and degree requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of students effectively in a remote setting .
