Job Description & How to Apply Below
Most tutors teach a lesson and hope the homework gets done. At Chembridge, we run a system. Every student is taught, does their homework under supervision, gets it marked properly, and goes through their mistakes in a tutorial. Parents and students can track every submission live. When students follow the system, results are predictable.
We’re looking for a full-time O-Level Chemistry tutor to deliver that system with us. No teaching experience is needed. We’ll train you.
Why teach with us- Materials ready from day one. Our topic notes condense 20–30 textbook pages into 4–5, and highlight the key concepts, the keywords examiners reward, and the answering technique for every topic. You focus on teaching, not on writing notes.
- Structured training.
- Mentorship from our founder, a Cambridge-trained chemistry educator with 9+ years of experience
- A clear career path: Tutor → Senior Tutor → Lead Tutor
- Work from home. All lessons are online.
- Teach lessons throughout the week: live online O-Level Chemistry classes of 20–30 students, plus tutorial sessions that go through marked homework
- Cover colleagues’ classes when needed
- Teach holiday bootcamps (March, June, September and Nov/Dec)
- Mark student homework to Cambridge examiner standard within 1 week of submission, with clear feedback on what was missing, why marks were lost, and what corrections to make
- Conduct 1-to-1 diagnostic calls and consultations to find students’ key chemistry gaps
- Help keep the homework tracker accurate, so no student slips through the cracks
- Stay in close, regular contact with parents and students, and build strong relationships with them
- Reply to parent and student messages within the same day
- Introduce the Chembridge programme to new students and parents after their trial lesson, and guide them through signing up
- Film teaching clips and short videos for our social media and ads (Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube)
- Other ad-hoc duties, such as educational projects and events
- A degree in Chemistry or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome.
- Strong O-Level Chemistry content knowledge
- The ability to explain hard concepts simply and confidently on camera, and comfort appearing in social media and ad content
- Rigorous, consistent marking: you care about keywords, units and significant figures
- Warm, clear communication with parents, and confidence in explaining the value of our programme
- A positive, resilient self-starter who is reliable and organised
- A home setup with a laptop, webcam, microphone and stable internet
- Fully online. Work from home.
- 5 days a week: 3 weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday
- Probation: 3 months
- Start date:
January 2027
