The Academic Tutor will provide individualized instruction to students in the Greater Columbus area through both in-person sessions and work-from-home support in a hybrid format. This contract role involves planning and delivering private classes aligned with school curricula, assessing student needs, and setting achievable learning goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and practice materials, explaining concepts clearly, guiding students through assignments, and monitoring progress over time.

The tutor will communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates, discuss strategies, and adjust instruction as needed. The role also requires maintaining professional records of sessions and outcomes while collaborating with the Prep Academy Tutors team to ensure high-quality educational support.

• Proficiency in mathematics and related academic subjects, with the ability to explain concepts at different grade levels.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging students and maintaining clear, consistent contact with parents and caregivers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area preferred; teaching certification or classroom experience is an asset.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Columbus, OH, including reliable transportation for in-person sessions and a suitable home workspace.
