About the role

As part of a dedicated Disability Advice team, you will work directly with students, academic departments, professional services, and external agencies to identify and remove barriers to learning. Through personalised support and expert advice, you'll help create an inclusive and accessible environment where all students can thrive.

In this role you will:

  • support a wide range of disabled students, providing tailored advice, guidance and support throughout their student journey.

  • contribute to wider inclusion initiatives, transition activities and disability awareness work that promotes a positive and inclusive student experience.
About you

We're looking for someone who combines strong casework and relationship-management skills with a genuine commitment to supporting disabled students.

You will have:

  • experience of providing advice and support to disabled individuals, ideally within a higher education or similar setting.
  • the ability to assess individual needs, develop practical support recommendations and manage a varied caseload effectively.
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build productive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy and responsive environment.
  • sound knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion principles, relevant legislation, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • good IT skills, including experience using Office 365, databases and case management systems.
  • a collaborative and professional approach, with a commitment to delivering excellent student-focused services.
  • resilience, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with students experiencing complex or changing circumstances.
  • a commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity and respect for all members of the university community.
