Job Description & How to Apply Below

As one of Glidance’s founding Glide Trainers, you’ll be the person who transforms a breakthrough device into real-world freedom for millions. You’ll guide new users, shape our training approach from the ground up, and help redefine independent mobility.

About Glidance, Inc.

Glidance is an autonomous technology company building the future of robotics and intelligent way finding to serve real human needs.

Our flagship product, Glide, is the world's first Intelligent Guide for individuals who are blind or have low vision — a new category of personal robot that enables millions of people to get out of their homes and navigate more confidently, safely, and independently.
If you're looking for a place where groundbreaking technology meets real-world impact, and where your work defines a category rather than iterates upon it, then Glidance is where you belong. This is not just your next job: it is your chance to make a life-changing impact on millions around the world.

Description
About the Role

As part of Glide’s ongoing rollout to the blind and low vision community across the US, UK, and Canada, we are seeking an innovative, flexible, and experienced professional who would like to be on the front lines of teaching mobility using Glide.

We currently have opportunities for two part‑time positions, and are looking for someone who is able to travel to onboard Glide pilot testers. This can include traveling to different states for two to four days during a week. There may also be opportunities to conduct half‑day or full‑day workshops to familiarize other orientation and mobility professionals with Glide and practice techniques for using it as a primary mobility aid.

Ideally, one person will primarily handle the Eastern United States, and the other will primarily handle the Western United States. These are remote positions.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

What You'll Do
  • Work with Glide pilot testers in their home, work, school, or communityenvironments by helping them get familiar with the Glide device, practicing techniques for using Glide, and experience walking in a variety of settings and situations, progressing from indoor navigation to outdoor mobility. Training will include crossing streets, using public transportation, and more.
  • Collect information about the user’s experience and report on observations of the training and the user’s successes and struggles to be communicated to the Glidance team to inform training, software priorities, and new features.
  • Organize and facilitate half‑day and full‑day workshops to train orientation and mobility professionals on using and teaching Glide so they are best equipped to train blind and low vision individuals in their communities to use Glide.
What We’re Looking For
  • Ability and willingness to travel and stay flexible with changing schedules and locations
  • Energetic, patient, and comfortable connecting both one‑on‑one and with groups
  • Experience with in‑person training, teaching, or coaching
  • Experience with Orientation & Mobility training
  • Comfortable with hands‑on tech — able to troubleshoot in the moment and communicate clearly with engineering when something needs a closer look
  • Quick thinker who can represent Glidance well in unscripted, in‑person moments
  • Genuine empathy for people with disabilities and a real desire to be part of the mission
  • Strong communication skills across a range of audiences — from first‑time users to trained professionals
  • Comfort working in urban, suburban, and rural settings
  • Lives within an hour’s drive of a major airport
  • Can rent vehicles and is willing to drive to customers
Highly Desired
  • Has a credential as a COMS, NOMC or GDMI
