About the Role

Our client, a growing online language learning platform, is looking for enthusiastic and qualified Online Language Tutors specializing in Mandarin Chinese. This is an on-site position located in Soweto
, Gauteng. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective language lessons to students of various ages and proficiency levels through interactive online sessions. The ideal candidate possesses native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese, a strong understanding of language pedagogy, and excellent communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on students' language acquisition journey within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct online Mandarin Chinese language lessons for individuals and small groups.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
• Focus on improving students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Mandarin.
• Incorporate interactive activities, multimedia resources, and real-world communication scenarios into lessons.
• Assess student progress through regular feedback, quizzes, and performance evaluations.
• Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and lesson notes.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress and expectations.
• Stay updated on effective language teaching methodologies and resources.
• Adhere to the platform's curriculum guidelines and teaching standards.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
• Proficiency in English is essential for instruction and communication.
• A Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Linguistics, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in teaching Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language, preferably online or in a classroom setting.
• Familiarity with language acquisition theories and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with learners of all ages.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching and cross-cultural understanding.
• Must be able to work on-site in Soweto
  , Gauteng, and be comfortable using online teaching platforms.
• Ability to manage time effectively and maintain a consistent teaching schedule.
• Knowledge of Pinyin and Chinese characters (simplified and traditional) is crucial.
