Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator We are seeking a Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator to join our team at New Horizon Academy Crystal Salary: $54,000 - $54,500

The Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator (SEL Coordinator) will be a role model in the school who consistently executes New Horizon’s high standards regarding interactions with children, utilizes the current curriculum and assessment, follows safety procedures and policies, displays leadership in the school, and conveys a positive attitude toward the children, co-workers, and families. The success of this role requires collaboration with the school family and other New Horizon Academy employees, such as the director/assistant director, Education Team, District Manager, and school mentors, to maintain New Horizon standards, and meet the individual needs of the school, teacher, or child.

QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrate a teachable spirit and enthusiastically embrace new initiatives.

Meets all Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements, including background study clearance, Rule 3 teacher qualifications, and required in-service hours.

Associate’s or bachelor’s in early education or related field degree preferred.

Demonstrates strong knowledge of child development and a sincere interest in working with young children and coaching adults; performs above average in ensuring their care and safety.

Demonstrates strong knowledge of coaching adults and willingness to participate in further training on coaching and leadership.

Understands and effectively implements the New Horizon curriculum.

Has completed Conscious Discipline training and has implemented the framework within the classroom setting.

Maintains professionalism through positive communication, collaboration, accountability, and appropriate handling of concerns.

Meets employment eligibility requirements, including authorization to work in the United States.

Possesses the physical ability to perform job duties, including hearing, speaking, seeing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and safely assisting in emergency evacuations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensure all teaching staff complete required Conscious Discipline training in alignment with New Horizon training guidelines.

Assist with onboarding new teachers on classroom standards including first steps to success (Daily Education) and all aspects of classroom management including room arrangement, positive behavior guidance, conscious discipline interactions and structure implementation.

Support the implementation of accommodations aligned with ICCPPs in collaboration with New Horizon Academy Early Childhood Mental Health Specialists.

Communicate and collaborate with any outside service providers that provide support for a child/children might be receiving including but not limited to scheduling visits, ensuring files are up to date, contacting NHA Early Childhood Mental Health Specialists and assisting in family conversations.

Lead implementation of School Family structures for staff (i.e., Safe Place, Celebration Center, Wish Well, etc.).Ensure all classrooms provide diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments that develop a sense of belonging for staff and children. Promote a sense of harmony throughout the center focusing on building each child’s and staff person’s sense of pride and self-esteem.

Collaborate with Home Office and School Leadership to support staff in meeting New Horizon’s Behavior Guidance policies and Education Quality Assurance standards.

Conduct NAEYC/NECPA classroom observations as requested by school leadership, district leadership, or the Education Team.
