Energy Efficiency Trade Ally Coordinator

Posted 1 day ago;
Be among the first 25 applicants.

Position Summary: As a Trade Ally Coordinator, you will lead outreach and engagement to recruit and support contractors and their customers in pursuing energy efficiency projects for commercial facilities, for a program that is located throughout the state of Oregon. You will need to be able to travel within your assigned territory and throughout your assigned region to engage with contractors, lead trainings, and perform in person site visits.

The role is hybrid in that you will work from home when not doing site visits or contractor in person engagements. Trade Ally Coordinators in this role will serve as a single point of contact for contractors wishing to participate in the program and receive help or support to increase awareness of the program to their customer base. Trade Ally Coordinators have a goal to successfully enroll contractors into the energy efficiency program offerings and ensure their continued success.

Meetings with contractors may take place via phone, email, and in-person events. Throughout the course of the day-to-day role, a Trade Ally Coordinator may need to communicate the benefits in terms that resonate with that contractor or their customer base (financial metrics vs. energy metrics) and provide contractors with the tools and training necessary to encourage stakeholders to move forward.

Alongside your outreach and contractor support role, you will be responsible for working with the client, building lasting relationships, and working as a team to achieve overall goals year over year. You will provide the team with market intelligence received from your contractor relationships, including information on updated technologies and trends, all the while cultivating and maintaining relationships with key role players within the market.

Every day you will be working towards helping society better utilize its energy resources.

A background in trades, construction management, energy management, account management, or an equivalent field is required. Direct experience working with utilities is preferred but not required.

This is an ideal job for someone with a long-term interest in understanding the inner workings of the commercial building and utility energy efficiency markets. The ideal candidate will also have a passion and capacity for working in an evolving, fast-paced, growth environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with contractors to enroll them in program offerings and ensure their continued success in completing energy efficiency projects.
  • On‑going account management for contractors and their staff within your assigned territory.
  • Provide support via answering ad hoc questions and providing regularly scheduled touch points and trainings as needed.
  • Work cross‑functionally with various stakeholders to provide a seamless journey through the energy process.
  • Communicate directly with external clients, customers, and partners daily by email and phone.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day coordination work with contractors and their projects, acting as the point person for as many as 100+ contractor accounts.
  • Maintain detailed records of communications, accounts, and projects in a variety of mediums and be able to quickly pull reports.
  • Meet in person with Waypoint’s clients and partners; this includes travel throughout your assigned Willamette Valley and Central Coast Oregon territory, as well as periodic engagements within the Portland Metro area.
  • Actively cultivate and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Share market intelligence relayed from contractor accounts.
  • Conduct basic data analysis, identify market trends, and problem‑solve barriers for contractors.
  • Draft deliverables in a range of formats, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Draft briefings and professional correspondence for review/circulation by management.
  • Actively take management guidance and execute project tasks.
  • Assist management in attaining business development targets.
