Remote Fleet Operator, Sr.
- Sr. Lead (Remote) – Onsite
Operate, monitor and maintain generating systems associated with Solar, Distributed Energy Resources (DERMS), Hydro, Reciprocating Engines (RICE), Combustion Turbines (CT’s), & Combined Cycle Combustion Turbines (CCCT’s) facilities while demonstrating safety awareness and continuously improving performance through strict adherence to procedures and processes. This position also supports leadership by providing operational support, enhancement & maintenance for a defined set of Entergy software applications supporting the fleet and the Remote Operations Control Center (ROCC).
The role works closely with other support team members, external vendors, and relevant project teams to manage all issues related to the applications supporting the ROCC.
- Work an assigned shift in the ROCC as part of 24‑x‑7 coverage to operate & monitor multiple new assets and existing fleet assets.
- Collaborate with other groups within the ROCC, including co‑location regulatory compliance requirements, working with the Energy Management Organization (EMO) and Performance Monitoring Analytics Center (PMAC).
- Maintain regulatory compliance and proactively handle all agencies to avoid reportable violations.
- Be responsible for NERC/CIP compliance associated with Remote Operations functions.
- Perform startup and shutdown functions of plant and associated equipment as required by System instructions.
- Plan Operations (SPO) & participate in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) meeting to satisfy system load requirements.
- Foster a safety‑oriented culture & use human performance tools.
- Champion the organization’s strategic vision and direction with a continuous‑improvement & commercial mindset.
- Facilitate and participate in job briefings, shift‑turnovers, and safety meetings.
- Develop procedures, checklists, and performance measures to monitor process controls, ensuring all operations and regulatory requirements are met.
- Comply with system critical conditions, suspending testing, maintenance, surveillance, equipment swaps, and other activities upon issuance of conservative operations or max‑generation notices from MISO, the Load Balancing Authority (LBA), or Transmission Operators.
- Support plant efforts to meet stakeholder expectations and continue to foster and maintain an inclusive environment.
- 2‑year associate degree in Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation/Controls, or Production/Process Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of operations experience in drum‑type, supercritical, or CCCT fossil‑fueled power plants (RFO Senior).
- 7 years of operations experience in drum‑type, supercritical plants with extensive experience operating CCCT power plants (RFO Senior Lead).
- Preferred:
Recognized training program in power‑plant operations, power‑plant systems, and/or power‑plant performance.
- Control Room operational experience in drum‑type, supercritical, combined‑cycle gas turbine (CCCT), renewables, reciprocating engines, Hydro technologies.
- Recognized system‑wide knowledge in power‑plant operations.
- Control Room Operation of CCCT’s.
- CRO/At the Controls/Board Qualified.
