DIC Packaging SI/PI Applications Engineer role at Siemens EDA (Siemens Digital Industries Software).

The Application Engineer (AE) role is one of the most critical positions within Siemens EDA. As an expert AE in the advanced packaging space, you will work at the forefront of the rapidly evolving hardware design landscape, addressing the challenge of merging IC, package, and PCB worlds by applying Siemens’ portfolio of technologies to meet customer needs.

DIC SI/PI Applications Engineer, you will drive technical engagements for Siemens’ Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and Electromagnetics (SI/PI/EM) products focused on 2.5D/3D IC heterogeneous packaging. Your responsibilities include understanding customer requirements, mapping Siemens solutions to customer problems, performing product demonstrations, managing evaluations, and providing technical guidance on emerging technology trends to Siemens’ R&D teams.

• Work with the sales team to define strategy and tactics to achieve technical wins.
• Lead technical engagements and collaborate with the broader AE organization as a subject matter expert.
• Understand basic elements of a technical campaign—decision processes, success criteria, committed usage, and problem resolution.
• Establish regular face‑to‑face meetings with customers to build trust and identify challenges.
• Demonstrate clear understanding of customer problems and work with sales to propose solutions that address those needs.
• Design and develop automated solutions around the Siemens EDA product line to address customer requirements.
• Collect and communicate customer feedback, competitive information, and field intelligence back to R&D to align product direction and roadmaps with customer needs.

• BS degree or equivalent.
• Prior experience in Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, or Electromagnetics with design or applications engineering.
• Python or VBScript automation skills.
• 2+ years of related experience in SI/PI/EM for IC, package, or PCB design.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Professional customer presence.
• Business travel required (approximately 30%).

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The total cash compensation range for this position is $142,800 to $285,600, with 20% comprised of an annual incentive target. Compensation is based on location and other factors such as skills and experience.
