OverviewThe Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job. Increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular preventive maintenance, regular upgrades as deemed by Leica Microsystems technical staff. A clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company. This position reports to the District Service Manager and is part of the Life Sciences Service Organization.
This position will work remotely to cover all New England, upstate New York with a high concentration of work in the Boston area.
- The essential requirements of the job include associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science or military equivalent.
- 1 year of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows base networking) as well as Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting skills and ability to use documentation for the purposes of troubleshooting.
- Local travel is required for this role daily. Ability to travel overnight 40‑50% of the time.
- Territory includes all New England, upstate New York.
- A valid passport or equivalent for travel into Europe.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- 2+ years of prior field service experience in related field is preferred or military equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in science discipline or type of engineering degree.
- Inventory Management, including but not limited to cycle counts updating car stock and returning aging inventory.
The hourly range for this role is $42.00 to $46.00. This role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
