PositionSummary
McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Designer I to join our Transportation Department. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work well in a hybrid remote office environment.
Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to organize is required.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and design skills.
- Work under the guidance of experienced project engineers/managers.
- Able to work on multiple design projects concurrently.
- Flexible to work with other disciplines to provide support when needed.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- 0 to 4 plus years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- EI certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Micro Station, AutoCAD, InRoads, and Open Roads is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
- Knowledge of transportation design elements, standards, and constructability methods.
- Willing and capable of performing occasional field work and having a valid driver’s license.
