Power Generation Risk Engineering Consultant – Zurich North America
Join the Global Energy – Power Generation team to support Power Generation Underwriting through field and desktop assessments of power generation plants and associated equipment.
Responsibilities- Advanced risk assessment of plant machinery and fire protection equipment risks, including associated business interruption.
- Providing consultative services to customers, identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigating causes/effects of major losses, and managing mitigation programs.
- Delivering Power Generation training for Risk Engineering staff, underwriting staff, customers, and coordinating service design.
- Managing account risk portfolio and delivering account‑level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
- Marketing Zurich products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company segments.
- Developing and implementing customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve operations.
- Senior Risk Engineering Consultant:
Bachelors with 6+ years of experience in Power Generation Risk Engineering, or High School Diploma with 8+ years, or Zurich Certified Apprentice (Associate degree + 6+ years). Must have team‑environment experience. - Risk Engineering Specialist:
Bachelors with 8+ years in Risk Engineering, or High School Diploma with 10+ years, or Zurich Certified Apprentice (Associate degree + 8+ years). Must have knowledge of exposures, controls, best practices, and advanced Microsoft Office skills. - Preferred: 10+ years of experience in Risk Engineering or power generation plant operations, military experience in propulsion plants or power generation equipment, related energy industry experience, advanced knowledge of exposures and industry segment, and certification in Power Generation Machinery Breakdown assessments.
Eligible for full‑time remote work (Western U.S. preferred; up to 50% travel within the U.S.). Annual salary range: $98,300.00 – $. Potential short‑term incentive bonus eligibility up to 20%.
