Forensic Structural Engineer, Professional Engineer
Haag, a Salas O’Brien Company and a leader in forensic engineering and consulting since 1924, is seeking an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer, ideally in the Cleveland, OH area. Working from your home office, you will investigate and evaluate the cause and extent of damage following storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, foundation movement, and more.
QUALIFICATIONS- Licensed P.E. in OH (or eligible by reciprocity).
- 1+ years forensic engineering experience preferred.
- Must be able to perform physical requirements, including confined spaces, roofs, ladder use, and equipment operation.
- Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed.
- Work independently and with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Provide exemplary customer service to clients.
- Technical proficiency with computers, phones, cameras, etc.
- Expert Witness experience preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university (required).
- Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering highly desirable.
The total compensation range for this position is $90,000 – $185,000 per year. Base salary is $90,000 – $130,000, with variable compensation up to $55,000.
