This is a remote, project‑based consulting position with the potential for on‑site missions or client interfacing as required.
Responsibilities- Lead pre-FID well engineering efforts, including well concept development, risk and cost assessments, and strategic input into field development plans.
- Develop, review, and own Basis of Design, casing design, well trajectory planning, and drilling/completion programs tailored to project objectives and subsurface conditions.
- Prepare and validate comprehensive execution documentation: drilling programs, time and cost estimates, bridging documents, and contingency plans.
- Provide strategic engineering support for rig and services procurement, including scope definition, bid evaluation, and technical clarifications.
- Interface closely with subsurface teams to ensure well designs are fit‑for‑purpose, operationally feasible, and aligned with reservoir access and field development strategy.
- Deliver real‑time operational support to execution teams, troubleshoot challenges, and contribute to remote performance monitoring.
- Facilitate lessons learned reviews, operational debriefs, and design improvement workshops to drive value creation and operational excellence.
- Mentor junior well engineers when applicable, and support capability building within project teams.

- 12+ years of well engineering experience in operating environments, with solid exposure to both early-phase planning and field execution.
- Demonstrated leadership in well delivery planning, operational readiness, and multi‑disciplinary project integration.
- Deep understanding of drilling engineering software and planning tools (e.g., Well Plan, Landmark EDM, Drillbench).
- Familiarity with HPHT, geothermal, or unconventional operations is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
