Position OverviewWe are seeking a Commissioning Engineer with extensive technical expertise across automation systems, emphasizing PLC‑based controls and HMI/SCADA solutions to perform on‑site commissioning and troubleshooting of warehouse and parcel conveyor systems, sortation systems, VFDs, network switches, and integrated control interfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Commission and troubleshoot PLC‑based material handling and conveyor control systems at customer sites.
- Validate I/O, perform system testing, and fine‑tune configurations for optimal performance.
- Commission and optimize Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for precise motor control.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial network switches for robust connectivity.
- Commission sortation systems to ensure proper sequencing and throughput optimization.
- Troubleshoot and maintain distributed I/O blocks across system networks.
- Commission and integrate HMI/SCADA solutions for real‑time operational insights.
- Program and troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley PLC systems (Control Logix and Compact Logix) and interface with HMI platforms.
- Read, interpret, and utilize electrical schematics for rapid issue resolution.
- Track and document as‑built changes to schematics during commissioning.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams for seamless integration.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain a flexible schedule with extensive travel to customer locations nationwide.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in commissioning and troubleshooting PLC‑based control systems, specifically Rockwell Automation’s Allen‑Bradley platforms.
- Extensive experience with HMI/SCADA systems (Factory Talk, Aveva Edge, Ignition, legacy interfaces).
- Strong background in troubleshooting distributed I/O blocks, commissioning VFDs, and industrial network switches.
- Proven experience in commissioning sortation systems to maximize efficiency.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and track as‑built changes.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking domains.
- Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
