At Interwest Consulting Group we are expanding our civil engineering design group to meet the increasing demand for our services. Our goal is to double our design capacity, and we need talented and ambitious engineers who can join our team and take advantage of this growth opportunity. We're building a design team focusing on civil infrastructure design for roadway and public park improvements, including planimetric layout, grading and drainage design, storm water management (treatment and detention/retention), wet utility collection and distribution systems (storm, sewer, water), coordination of utility layout with dry utilities, coordination of our design with the entire consultant team, including geotechnical engineers, traffic engineers, landscape architects, lighting and electrical engineers, and others, plus coordination with our clients and other public agencies to develop a design that meets the needs and expectations of a large group of stakeholders.

We’re looking for engineers with experience in design, plan production, and preparation of specifications, cost estimates, and supporting calculations.

We know from experience that co-locating a design team in an office environment maximizes collaboration and productivity, and creates the most supportive conditions for professional growth. To be the best we can be, individually and as a team, we need direct interaction and spontaneous communication. We also understand the importance of providing a flexible work situation. This position will combine both - An average of 32 hours per week in our Sacramento office and 8 hours per week working remotely.

Rather than having fixed days in the office and remote, we will provide flexibility for days, or partial days, working remotely to accommodate appointments, child care, or other situations that would present a challenge for coming into the office on a particular day or part of a day. That way you decide what works best for you to meet your other obligations.

We will provide a full work station for your home office so your equipment is the same whether you’re working in the office or remotely. We also provide excellent technical support for hardware and software.

Founded in 2002, Interwest provides City Engineering, Building Code Compliance, City Planning, Traffic Engineering, Capital Project Delivery, Geographic Information System (GIS), and Real Property Acquisition services. We currently have over 300 employees specializing in public works, building and safety, planning, engineering, and real estate acquisition, throughout CA and NV.

• Minimum 2 years of experience performing civil infrastructure design elements described above.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred for more experienced applicants.
• Possession of a valid Class “C” California driver’s license is required.
• Have solid computer skills and experience using PDF and MS Office programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exercise initiative and display independent judgment.
• Be self-directed and self-motivated.
