Senior Designer – ResponsibilitiesThe senior designer evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering design techniques, exercising judgment in the performance of project objectives. The role requires working with diverse industries, clients, and technical issues, handling multiple projects simultaneously with clear and specified objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Scope – Design the portion of all scope documents; aid in development of scope documents and ensure they meet intended purpose. Scope documents include Scope of Work, Discipline Narrative/Execution Plan, and Specification.
- Schedule – Follow the project schedule as defined in scope documents.
- Budget – Review and agree to budgets allotted for assigned tasks; track hours and maintain discipline budgets; assist lead engineer in budget maintenance.
- Quality – Ensure the quality of work and deliverables; schedule quality control checks of deliverables and those working for the designer.
- Implement the Project Execution Plan, communicate risks and delays to the lead engineer, maintain scope documents, schedule, budget, and quality, and reconcile all issues with proper project documentation.

Physical Requirements:
sitting for extended periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and frequently performing visual acuity tasks such as reading drawings and using a computer screen.
Physical Activities include talking, hearing, balancing, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and vision tasks. Working conditions may involve indoor/outdoor activity, temperature extremes, noise, and working near moving mechanical parts or electrical current. The worker may be required to wear a respirator or operate in confined spaces.
Qualifications- 10+ years of mechanical design experience, including industrial equipment arrangements, equipment settings, and piping plans/elevations/isometrics with PE stamp.
- 3D CAD experience in Plant 3D, laser scanning of industrial sites, point‑cloud work, Navisworks modeling, and drawing preparations.
- Experience with vendor STEP files and plant piping standards;
AutoCAD 2D proficiency. - Knowledge of MEP and project management principles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to visit job sites and assist in hands‑on evaluations.
