Engineer Manufacturing (Level 2/3) – R

Location:

Chandler, AZ. Full‑time on‑site position. No relocation assistance and no hybrid or remote work. Requires DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship). 10% travel.

About the Role

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector invites you to bring your pioneering spirit to our Cables Team. As a Cables Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2 or Level 3), you will design and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production layouts, quality compliance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
  • Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
In This Job, You Will
  • Create cable MES build plans using templates and desktop procedures.
  • Develop in‑process change records on buildsli>
  • Troubleshoot and work on cause/corrective actions.
  • Create design change cable build plans.
  • Update MES plans when new cable drawings are released.
  • Work on process improvements.
Required Qualifications – Level 2
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 1 year of professional experience. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires U.S. citizenship as a prerequisite.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Required Qualifications – Level 3
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires U.S. citizenship as a prerequisite.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD security clearance of Secret or above.
  • Experience working with MES.
  • Experience with cables.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter or Solumina.
  • Adept at managing competing priorities.
  • Attention to detail.

Schedule and Compensation

Work schedule:

9/80 (9 hours per day Monday‑Thursday, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off). Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 – $90,100.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $. Salary is determined by scope of responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives.
